A Complete Renewable Energy Training system
An off grid inverter is included which can be connected to the wind
turbine and/or solar photovoltaic system outputs. As the electrical load
is increased the turbine’s angular velocity will decrease with constant
wind velocity. Several DC and AC loads are provided for various
exercises.

Instrumentation to measure critical variables including wind velocity,
voltage, current, power, light intensity, solar panel temperature and
turbine angular velocity is provided. Multiple voltage and current
measurements are taken at various locations within the system to
demonstrate power distribution. A microprocessor based control
system with color touch screen is used for monitoring and control of
both the wind turbine and solar photovoltaic systems. Graphical data
acquisition is included to allow for real time analysis and plotting.

A battery charge controller is included which allows the student to vary
the charge characteristics for both systems. The 12 volt rechargeable
battery is capable of supplying power in the absence of wind or light for
a period of time. This time is determined by the state of charge of the
battery as well as the load conditions.
